Purpose and scope

The instrument is designed and made as per T0620 Bitumen Dynamic Viscosity Test (Vacuum Decompression Capillary Methods) in the JTJ052 Test Methods of Bitumen and Bituminous Mixture for Highway Engineering of Industry Standard of Peoples Republic of China and SH/0557 Test Methods for Bitumen Viscosity (Vacuum Capillary Methods) stipulated in the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Standard of Peoples Republic of China.

The instrument is suitable to determine dynamic viscosity of viscous bitumen using a vacuum decompression capillary viscometer. If no specific conditions mentioned, the test temperature is at 60 , and the vacuum degree is at 300 mmHg.

The instrument is suitable to determine other substances whose viscosity is between 0.0036 and 20.000 Pa.s under 60 , 300 mmHg (40 kPa) by vacuum capillary methods.
